more underground...just for byron

AMAZING recent movie discovery (*note, added to non-seasonal wishlist):

This movie is beautiful! The main characters hardly ever speak to eachother, but not for a moment does that seem odd. A sweet, simple, and fantastical love story about empty houses and hearts, and how love can fill them both. I think it's perfect in so many ways.

Kim Ki-Duk is an up-and-coming South Korean film maker of (at least from what I've seen so far) impressive talent. He makes movies that are truly art. He has another recent film, previous to this one, which was widely acclaimed, called "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter...and Spring" which is next on my list.

although if you are into the korean stuff now, you should watch "attack the gas station." hilarious stuff. or "musa the warrior"... it's a little hard to follow, but i found it pretty dang good. "JSA" (Joint Security Area) was also really good, and the little bit i saw of "2009: Lost Memories" made it look really good as well.

jeeze, apparently Danner is our Korean film expert. Nice Dan - somehow with your staunchly typical conservative exterior you continue to amaze me! much love
