bad coffee and bus rides

Lab coffee:
It either tastes like feet (Please put me out my misery if Folger's ever becomes the best part of waking up) or looks like tea - which is strictly my fault this morning. But now I'm faced with a dilemma: the coffee is weak, but i don't want to waste it and toss it out. Can I run it back through the machine with more coffee ground up? Will that just burn it? *sip...ew

AND riding the bus this morning because my bike broke (after having already paid a great deal to fix it, this brings the vocab word of the day: chagrin) I had to sit in front of two classically California girls who seriously complained about school the WHOLE way there- in their whiny, nasal, valley-girl accents that I can't stand. arg, humanity is depressing. I mean honestly! they were lazy and sour, and as they swore and sneered away what would otherwise have been a crowded but at least mundane morning ride, all I could think about were all the students who worked so hard to get scholarships to come here and the ones who travelled from other countries, are far from their families, and are working hard to stay here and get a good education. And all the ones who can't come...I was seriously just riding around campus the other day amazed at all the students that are here, how blessed we all are to have been given this education and how rare this really is. I spend all day talking about people who don't have enough to eat, much less a caliber american education. I can't listen to that stuff.

So yes, there are better ways to start your day - mi amor sabe una idea sobre eso ;).

just be glad you're not in massachusetts. there are some folks there trying to pass a law that would allow illegal aliens to pay in-state tuition, taking up spots that would normally go to out-of-staters. nevermind the fact that legally, they shouldn't even be in the country, let alone attending school there.

also, omar's idea of a good way to start the day is not something everybody can do.
